Holiday entitlement

Holiday entitlement refers to the leave an employee is entitled to within the organisation. By default, employees receive a minimum of 5.6 weeks of paid holiday each year, which may include public and bank holidays.

With this option, you can set the company’s leave details, including leave entitlement in days or weeks, company-paid leaves and working days. The information saved here will apply to all employees within the company.

With this option, you can add holidays that are specific to the company and allowed to employees in addition to their regular leave entitlement.

This section displays the employee’s calendar, showing their basic details, total leave entitlement and all types of leaves taken during the year.

Employee leave setting

The setting option in the top-right corner allows you to configure leave settings for the selected employee. You can set leave entitlement in days or weeks, company-paid leaves, working days and any carry-over leaves. These details will be saved specifically for the selected employee.

Users can record leave through the Payroll and RTI page under the 'Statutory leave' tab or via the Employee profile under the 'Leave' section.

Steps to add leaves

On the right side, you will find a list of all leave types available for employees. To add a leave, follow the steps below :

  • Step 1 : Select the employee and choose the date on which you want to add the leave.

  • Step 2 : Select the type of leave you want to assign for that day.

  • Step 3 : The leave will be added, and the selected day will be highlighted. You can click on the highlighted day to view, edit or delete the leave.

Observe

Leave cannot be added for any period in which the pay run has already been processed.

Annual leave

These are paid leaves given to employees and are deducted from their total leave entitlement.

These are unpaid leaves for which an amount will be deducted from the PAYE of that month. Unpaid leave calculation: [Gross pay / Total working days] * Total number of leaves

Late leave

Late leave represents the number of hours an employee is late on a particular date and the amount will be deducted from the PAYE of that month. Late leave calculation: No. of hours late * Rate per hour

Sick leave is applied for the days an employee is unwell, and payment is made based on statutory sick pay thresholds.

Parenting leave

Parenting leave includes all types of statutory leaves such as Statutory paternity pay, Statutory maternity pay, Statutory adoption pay and Statutory shared parental pay.

KIT day

A KIT day (Keep in Touch day) allows an employee on maternity, adoption or shared parental leave to work for up to 10 days without ending their leave or affecting their statutory pay.

Training leave reflects the number of hours an employee is in training on a particular date and the amount will be added to the PAYE of that month. Training leave calculation: No. of Training hours * Rate per hour

On Strike leave

Custom leaves are any other types of leave the employer wants to provide to employees, with an option to mark the leave as paid or unpaid.

If all your entitled paid leaves are exhausted and you need extra paid leave, you can apply for it by selecting the “Additional paid leave” checkbox.
